instead of replacing the turbo with the same vgt turbo i want to try installing a non vgt borg warner s475 turbo. the truck ran good but after a few years my turbo seal went bad and its time to replace the turbo. Conclusion was we would spend more money on brake shoes, that money would pay for a few HE turbos in a couple of years. Power wise the engine is smoother engine brake wise its needing to operate close to 1900 RPM to have same holding power as it use to at 1400 RPM. Final results are as follows, next week the driver is coming back, we're pulling everything off, installing the original manifold and putting on the HE series Holset back on. Truck runs from NW to Alaska, its only where we run.

Did a diesel spec edit for the calibration, also did some of our own mods in Calterm. I just did one, but used a HX60 turbo and installed a 40PSI waste-gate controller. im not worried about how to install that turbo but on how the truck is going to react? also will i get any check engine lights to come on with out touching the ecu again? what needs to happen to make this set up work?
